Wallet Found
Read this text
My name is Martha and I am 40 years old. I come from South Africa. I came to Australia in 2006. I live in a small house in Box Hill. I have three children and my husband works at a factory in Richmond. My children go to a primary school in Box Hill. They study in different year levels. My daughter is in year 4. My son is in year 3 and my youngest daughter is in year 1. They are happy at their school.
Last Sunday my husband was working overtime. I had to do some shopping. I took my three children to the shopping centre in Box Hill to buy some vegetables and milk. We walked to the shopping centre. We don’t have a car.
We spent about one hour at the shopping centre. When we were going home, we walked along Victoria Street. My son found something on the ground. He picked it up and it was a wallet.
He gave it to me and I opened it. I found a driver’s licence and some money inside the wallet. I counted the money. There were 250 dollars inside the wallet. I read the address on the driver’s licence and it was in Victoria Street.
We walked to the address and knocked at the door. A man opened the door and we gave him the wallet. He was happy and he gave my children 60 dollars. The children were happy. I was happy too.
We took the money and went back to the shopping centre. We bought more fruit and vegetables. We also bought a T-shirt for my son to use at school. Everyone was happy.
