It Was Wrong of America to Invade Iraq

In 2003, America invaded Iraq and destroyed most of its cities. They bombed many cities and took control of the country. Nearly one million Iraqis died during the invasion and two millions had to flee to other neighbouring countries. It affected the lives of millions of Iraqis too. It was wrong of America to invade Iraq and occupy the country.

First of all, there was not one solid reason for America to attack Iraq. In addition to that, the American president George Bush told many lies about the Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and gave a bad picture about him to the world. He only went there to control the oil there.

Secondly, it was not true that Iraq had any atomic bombs or weapons of mass destruction. It was wrong of George Bush to tell the world that Iraq wanted to buy uranium from Africa to make nuclear weapons.

There were a lot of bad consequences of the American invasion of Iraq. For example, there are millions of people who starve in Iraq. After the invasion, neighbours turned against each other. People couldn’t live in peace any more. Most of the Iraqis nowadays live in horrible conditions and many of them can’t go back to their country.

Hundreds of Iraqi women work as prostitutes in neighbouring countries because they don’t have any other choice in life. The country had been under American sanctions for many years.

Now, the sanctions are not there any more but living conditions are still horrible. I strongly believe that it is not safe for many Iraqis to walk in the streets or travel to another city. Everyone is scared because they don’t know what will happen.

In conclusion, it was wrong of America to invade Iraq in 2003. The country is not safe any more and people there suffer a lot.
