The Sydney Tower
The building of Sydney Tower began in the late 70s` with the first 52 shops opening in 1972. The Sydney Tower was opened to the public in August 1981.
It is one of the safest buildings in the world. The design makes the tower capable of withstanding earthquakes and extreme wind conditions.
Three fast double Deck Lifts take nearly 40 seconds to travel from top to bottom.
The 420 windows of the tower are cleaned by a window-cleaning machine. This machine takes two days to clean all 420 windows.
Thousands of people like to visit the Sydney Tower when they come to Australia. From the golden beaches to the distant Blue Mountains, Sydney Tower takes you to the highest point above Sydney Australia for breathtaking 360-degree views of our beautiful harbour. Enjoy the beautiful Sydney views, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour, with free telescopes and free guided tours.
Sydney Tower is the perfect place to start your Sydney holiday or Sydney vacation. You can see the whole city before you commence your Sydney activities. It’s also a great place for family fun activities, or simply a day out to be amazed by Sydney’s best views!
Sydney Tower is located above Centrepoint shopping centre, at the corner of Pitt Street and Market Street. It is in the heart of Sydney's centre. Tickets can be purchased at 100 Market Street. You can go to Sydney tower by bus, ferry, monorail or train. Have fun at Sydney Tower.
