Working Bee

In Australia parents are asked to go to their children school to do some work there. This can save the school a lot of money. The money they save will be spent on buying computers and books for the children to use at school. Here is a sample of a letter you can get from your child's school. Here is a sample of a letter that you can get from your child's school.

Dear Parents,
There will be a working bee day on Saturday 5 September at our school. We are hoping to complete the front garden and paint the bike shed and make them ready for our students to use. There are also different small jobs to be done like general weeding, lawn mowing, window cleaning, wall painting and sweeping the pathways.
If you are a carpenter, electrician or anyone who has handyperson skills please contact me via h.thomas@cisc.vic.edu.au to arrange for jobs that are suitable for you. If you have any tools that you use at home and think that they can be used on that day, please bring them with you. The working bee will be from 8.30am till 12 noon. If you are unable to commit for the entire morning, any assistance would be appreciated.
Many of our jobs are outdoors so please be ready for any changing weather conditions on that day. Have your hat on all the time and apply sunscreen. Drink enough water and wear comfortable shoes.
This is also a golden opportunity to meet other parents from our school community and engage in a significant school improvement project. The bike shed conversion needs you!!
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided but feel free to bring any food you would like to share with others if you like. It is a chance to sit down with other parents and share a smile. Lunch is provided at a small cost of $4. If you have any questions, please contact the school office via email on info@ciscc.vic.edu.au or call (03) 9837 5892.
