New York


New York is one of the largest cities in the world. It is the largest and most famous city in America. It has one of the world’s largest subway systems. There are many famous sights to see in New York like the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, George Washington Bridge, The American Museum of Natural History, the buildings of the United Nations and many more. It is also the most important international hub for business and commerce. It is home to some of the biggest companies in the world of finance, advertising, insurance, medicine and internet technology.

New York has a population of more than 8 million people and is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. The most famous sight in New York is the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from France in the 19th century. The statue was shipped in 350 pieces and it took four months to put together in 1886. It can take a tourist more than a month to visit some of the fifty attractions available there. New York has on of the world’s most expensive property markets. Rent in New York is very high. A three-bedroom house can cost $12,000 per month. A four-bedroom apartment can cost more than 3 million dollars to buy but prices are coming down due to the global financial crisis. Luxury apartments in skyscrapers can cost tens of millions of dollars to buy.
When visiting New York, it’s good to be street smart. Don’t display large amounts of cash in public. Don’t keep your wallet or passport in the back pocket of your pants. Keep your necklace tucked under your clothing. Don’t display anything that is valuable. Stay in populated areas especially late at night. It’s good to go out in the street in a group. This will make you feel safer and enjoy your time more in New York. The city is busy all year round with different carnivals and celebrations and that’s why the best time to visit New York is the time that you choose.
